Vallarta has changed so much since I first saw it in the 80's, but if anything it has certainly gotten more gay. In fact, gays have all but taken over Old Town, which has been euphemistically renamed the "Zona Romantica," lol. I would go with you to Vallarta to share the condo, but I spend two weeks each October traveling elsewhere in Mexico (last time, Cuetzalan, Tlaxcala, et al.). Give me a buzz at the usual email addie. Richard, I will be your atheist friend from afar. I loved Chicago when there in the mid-80's and wouldn't hesitate to go back for something special -- say, an opera production of Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier. I've found that it is best to tell guys you are an atheist in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS. Right off the bat. It most certainly can be an issue, and while I don't think we should wear our non-belief on our collars, if your atheism is as important to you as it is to me, your potential pal/partner/whatever deserves to know that at the start. Richard, I completely understand. It is hard to reconcile Jew in me with the Secular-Atheist in me. I have not yet read Rabbi Wine's book.. It is on my reading list though.

It took me years of internal struggle; even anguish; to get to the point where I am comfortable calling myself an Atheist.

There are Secular Jewish communities around the country that celebrate cultural rights of passage such as Bar/Bat Mitzvah and even Passover. They are modified of course. The Bar/Bat Mitzvah is simple a rite of passage towards adult hood. Passover is a freedom celebration for many.

Richard, I do understand. I've been looking for many more people like us. As time goes by more and more people will come out.
