Here in Goshen, there are a lot of people who are atheist or agnostic but will never admit it in public. This town is mostly owned by the mennonites, and even though some of them are liberal, you still need belief in gawd. I went to fairfield h.s. and don't think anyone knew or cared if I was an atheist. I think it was just assumed that everyone believes in a creator. I didn't really care for school then.
Anyway, religion aside, there are some good people here. Kara at Spacious Heart Yoga, Michelle at the Gift of Gab, Michelle at the Dandy Lion. I would encourage you to find friendship there. I don't think any of them are atheist, but they are liberal enough to be supportive.

One is "Proud to be Atheist" (74 posts) seeing that atheists and humanists hold the intellectual high ground compared with the superstitions of the god followers. Similarly, “Religion is aberrant, atheism is truth” (42 posts).
