Its been a long time so I asked my wife what she suggested and basically she suggested that you go to a religious recovery forum/group specific to your denomination/situation and ask for help.

Respectfully decline. My dad was a devout Catholic and he accepted my atheist husband. Sometimes people can surprise you.

See, that's just the thing. The problem isn't with him. He doesn't have a problem (we've been dating 8 months now), it's his parents I'm more concerned about.

A friend of a friend is one. The interesting thing is, he engaged in exactly the same behavior as a Christian, and the de-conversion to atheism didn't do anything for him except change which banner he flew.

- There isn't really much to say, I suppose. I was born and raised in the bible belt of the US and moved further south to Atlanta, Georgia. I was raised in an Irish Roman Catholic household and began doubting at an early age, but out of fear of Hell, was never open about it. Now...? Well...there's really no shutting me up at this point. :P
Now I've settled out west where, thankfully, Atheism isn't really looked down upon...at least, not nearly as much as the bible belt. :) I'm home!!!
I write, I edit, I spoof, I sing and love to go biking. I love cake, but hate icing. I love the ocean but hate sailing. I love to dress up, but I'm a tomboy at heart. I'm a clutz, but after enough Bailey's I just might break into a tap dance that'll knock your socks off. Any other questions? Feel free to ask.
