There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.
I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

You know, what also helped me was knowing that not all religious constructs were as stupid as evangelicalism .... I was exposed to higher criticism in school and always respected it ... I'm talking about studies such as detailed in Bart Ehrman's books such as "Jesus Interrupted" ... if you haven't read any of his work you might enjoy it. He's a former fundy who went on to receive his Doctorate in theology from Princeton Theological Seminary and who is a well known and respected Bible scholar today and, a non believer.
Point being, when you see how silly and immature evangelical theology or any theology targeted for the masses is, you can easily dismiss it.
Example:
Mark's gospel says jesus was crucified on Passover morning at around 9 AM, John's gospel says he was crucified at around 2PM the day BEFORE ... which was right? ... No evangelical would ever attempt to answer me ... but if such basic information could be in error what is the basis for trusting anything written in the book ... If there were any integrity to the bible
where could anyone get knowledge of god from? ... other scriptures are just as bad if not worse and no one believes we should trust the word of people alive today.
Anyway, you are in good company and in a good place ... try to avoid confrontations until your new worldview sinks in and becomes a part of you and rant away here when you need to
