42 or the answer to Life the Universe and Everything...

The continuation of life is the meaning of life, but because continual existence of any particular life is improbable, or impossible so on an arbitrary scale of 1 to 7 I give life a 6 out of 7.The Universe exists as it does and it is impossible to for the universe to be wrong or behave in a way contrary to the way universe does work.  So on that arbitrary scale the universe gets a 7.life (6), the universe (7) and everything is 42...  what more is there to discuss. See More

ORIGINS: UNIVERSE, LIFE, HUMANKIND, AND DARWIN

We debate origins of the Universe, life, Earth, humans, religion, atheism, using common sense, evolution, cosmology, geology, archaeology, and other sciences, to repel biblical creationism and other religious beliefs.

It gets us no where and just gets their defenses up. Instead agree to disagree and work on dialogues about real world problems and fixes. I know there will be times when they will say something foolish like. “Jesus is coming back in 2012 anyway, so who cares about the pacific garbage patch?” just reply “Maybe if we fixed that problem he wouldn’t have to come back.”…

The meaning of life...

Posted on July 7, 2010 at 3:00am 8 Comments

I've always said that there is reality, and perception. Reality is. Perception is just our animal brains working to understand reality as we can conceive of it. Now the great mistake that many people make is thinking that their perception of reality is what reality is. But perception can be wrong, reality can't be.

Hello R. Ryan Nelson, and welcome to this friendly meeting place with freethinkers like you who recognise that religion is a huge deception aimed at controlling vulnerable superstitious people, including defenceless children; and
how tragic and inexcusable it is that women and minorities have been oppressed these last two thousand years and even longer.
