Dark Ambient

For people who dig Dark Ambient - a sub-genre of ambient music that features foreboding, ominous, or discordant overtones. Generally the music tends to evoke a feeling of solitude, melancholy, confinement, and isolation. [ID0331.10]See More

Recovering from Religion

Unless you were raised by atheist parents, you probably had some recovering to do when you left religion. The purpose of RR is to provide a landing place for people when they jump from religion. With local support groups throughout the US, Canada, UK, and Australia, and real-time resources accessible to everyone, RR is where to turn when faith has lost its luster.See More

About Me
I grew up in the church and school system founded by doomsday prophet Tim LaHay (of "Left Behind" fame). I was won over to atheism ten years ago after reading George H. Smith's "Atheism: The Case Against God" and realizing that its logic was perfectly sound. It was quite a relief to know that I wasn't going to hell after all, and I "came out" brazenly and rather angrily. I'm a bit more humble about it these days; I guess I've slightly worn out my passion for not believing in something. Most of my friends are also atheists now and it seems like there's little more to be said on the issue of faith, though I must admit that I still think about it quite a lot, maybe because I was once a pretty firm believer. Anyway, even in the unlikely event that theism turns out to be correct, I can't imagine aligning myself with a deity who is at best indifferent to the immense amount of suffering on this planet.

Chinese,most of them are atheists because there is a book in middle school for every students to learn that the world has no God, but I still met some problem in mind need to know the answer, the most wanted to know is that there is no God,but so many people believe in it and busy for it. why? I tried to be humble to read Bible,but at last,I almost be a christen,I am not yet,but like to know what they are doing in Church,so I must have problem in mental now.

Hi and welcome to this friendly meeting place where, like you, we recognise that gods are phoney and religions are cunning frauds used to control people;
and how tragic and inexcusable it is that women and minorities have been oppressed these last two thousand years and more.
