We debate origins of the Universe, life, Earth, humans, religion, atheism, using common sense, evolution, cosmology, geology, archaeology, and other sciences, to repel biblical creationism and other religious beliefs.
Welcome to this cheerful Internet community of rationality and peace, common sense and freethinking wisdom. You are quite right. There just isn't any god. It's all fiction.
We invite you to join the busy…"
"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities in their name."
I'm willing to believe, but there has to be sufficient evidence.
The bible claiming this or that is not sufficient. Instead, I look to the real world. Do the events that occur on this planet appear more consistent with there being no god (or, there being a now-hands-off creator)? Or, do you believe they're more consistent with there being an omniscient, omnipotent, beneficent god? Why does God not tell us the location of kidnapped children who will be abused and murdered days from now? I say, considering all the good and the bad, that reality is very much consistent with there being (effectively) no god.
I call that the "just look around you" argument, as opposed to the "I don't know, so there must be a god" argument.
