I guess this is nothing more than personal musings on the passing of an American icon. On Saturday, August 25th, Neil Armstrong died at 82 years of age. In a very large sense he, along with the rest of the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo astronauts, can be compared to Christopher Columbus, Roald Amundsen, and the first south seas sailor in a dugout canoe to spot the Hawaiian Islands. There was the obligatory 5 minute news coverage of his death and his magnum opus achievement – being…

There currently exists a highly active, and insidious, effort to convert members of the U.S. military to evangelical Christianity. From what I have thus far read, this is being done inside the armed services by high ranking officers working with the likes Franklin Graham (Billy Graham’s be-knighted offspring), and others. Loren Miller said… Okay, Pat ... here you go ... but remember, YOU ASKED!
Loren Miller said… Hang in with me, Pat (re: my status). I'm just back from a week trip to Dallas and I'm a bit pooped. I'll put it together either today or tomorrow - please stay tuned!
Randall Smith said… Your reply to my post was most uplifting. I appreciate your effort to lead me out of "darkness and despair". I'm overstating, of course. But I do feel better, despite a rough day babysitting yest.! It's another day and the sun is out!
Randall Smith said… No problem. I put "rebuke" in quotes, you noticed. Like I said, I fully understand where you're coming from. Ignorance has no boundaries.
Randall Smith said… Hey Pat. I don't dispute one word of your "rebuke" to my comment. If more people would stand up to the injustices in our societies, the less evil we would have. I'm just not that kind of guy, and yes, I'm ashamed of that fact. At least I'm "out of the closet" and spoken out on my secular beliefs. One step!
Loren Miller said… Thanks for the link on Jehovah's Witlesses. Definitely good for a laugh.
This is the third time in about as many years that they've come to my door, and each time ... well, you know how it goes. I occasionally wonder if they'll ever recognize that I'm not having any and quit. I doubt they have that much common sense, though!
