So I'm a sculptor and jewelry designer, I work mostly in polymer clay with some mixed media thrown in. I'm inspired a lot by fantasy, mythology, and nature. I have a bit of an obsession with cephalopods and they show up a lot in my work.
I wasn't raised in a religious family, my mom is a teacher and she taught me and my brother to question everything and explore. Growing up I was more agnostic or deist (though I didn't know what either of those words meant), I knew people believed in god and my family celebrated christian holidays without the religious trappings but it didn't have much effect on me. As I got older and realized how seriously some people took religion I just didn't get it, I started identifying myself as an atheist in high school and never regretted it.
I went to a math and science magnet school in high school. I love science, and considered a career in that direction for a while (paleontology). I also love history and went to college for that for a while. Ended up an artist. Go figure.

I also love science and have, like you - considered Paleontology! I love anthropology, and; along with my interest in psychology - would love to pursue social anthropology! Myth and the psyche are what really interest me!!
Hey, I notice you are from Bryant Pond. My husband and I got married at The Maine House up there 6 years ago. Beautiful place. I would love to get back for a family reunion some day. How do you like it here? I don't remember very well but it seemed like a very artsy community. I love Maine, my sister lives in the Belfast area, eventually we would like to relocate to Maine too.
