Yes and atheists can boycott them over their blatant segregation in the middle east. Females have to sit in the back of the cafe and enter in the backdoor. Get with the times, Bro.

That would be great reality TV! I would love to see it... It has always shocked me how much the theists DON'T know about us.  But what shocks me the most is the flat out lies, some of the lies are downright funny!

To be honest I never even realized how out of the norm growing up godless is! It was juts so utterly benign and average to me. It had never occurred to me before I joined that atheism could cause any issues with the Air Force (and in my case…

My atheist Chistmas story!

I have always enjoyed the holidays with my family, although we never celebrated the religious aspect of them. My parents are nonbelievers who did not want to influence us on religion.     We have this tradition for Thanksgiving that brings real meaning for the day. Before we eat, when most families would pray, each of us would go around the table and acknowledge the things we are thankful for. Not once did any of us see the need to thank a god. As a child I would say something to the…See More

Last time I checked humans think on a much higher level than your average animal. And evolution never claimed to be a science of morality, just how living beings adapt over time. While I do agree with getting to know the other sides argument is a…

The Ledge...

The Ledge... Just saw it; still digesting... To me it seems like a movie about atheists made for religious folk.  The angry atheist who is mad at god not realizing that you have to think something exists to be angry with it... Never the less it did get some things right. So many times I have looked at the stars; as a little girl who wondered why they were not closer to us to a grown woman donating money to SETI and still starring up at the night sky.  I will watch it again; I had to watch it…See More

About Me
The first time I remember ever having a real discussion of religion at home, or any place else for that matter, was with my dad when I was in high school and even then is was rather superficial, he never wanted to influence me in that regard. My parents never made a decision for me regarding religion, my father is and atheist and so is my mother but they never really talked about, they never had to. I loved living in a house where freethinking was not merely encouraged but required. However I did get plenty of exposure to religion, as I went to Church and Kingdom Hall with various friends. At the time I did not think much about them, no one tried to convert me and my friends just understood, as kids we did not think about such things. After receiving a thoroughly secular education in high school, I joined the US Air Force and I am enjoying every moment of it. Soon after getting settled in my first duty station a debate about belief floated around my office. I worked the night shift, a skeleton crew enough people to get the job done but less people then on days. I could do nothing other than tell the truth about my stance, although I was woefully ill equipped to defend my position. I came across The God Delusion, looking for ammo in our debates. I found the ammo I was looking for to say the least, and the copy I have is an underlined, margin noted and post-it noted mangled manuscript. I try everyday to see this world in a new way and each time I do I am thankful to this intricate and majestic universe we all share.

Hi Nichelle, welcome to Atheist Nexus, I’m sure you’ll find a lot of really nice interesting group here. The people I’ve met so far are really nice and the conversations have been really cool. I worked at Hickam AFB for a really long time, till 2009, now I’m up at Wheeler AAF. If you want to meet some other Hawaii Heathens, we have a group here called Godless of Hawaii; check us out if you have some free time. Some of us started up a meetup.com group called Hawaii Atheists, Agnostics, Freethinkers & Humanists, we try to get together a few times a month for food or drinks or family stuff. The last thing we did was singing karaoke… If you’re interested in the meet up group, let me know.
Aloha, Calvin

Hi and welcome to this great meeting place
where religion is recognised for the superstition and people-control fraud that it is and for its inexcusable 2000 years of oppressing women.
