Mymelody replied to Goz's discussion 'What's the creepiest thing a theist has ever said to you?'
"without Jesus, I would have given into the feelings I had of killing my family and myself" Yeah, that one creeped me out a lot.

Do you drink your mate with or without sugar? It gives such a nice boost, but without azucar it just tastes like poison.

Ha ha. I actually ask people what they would rather have - flying or invisibility. I heard this NPR bit about a year ago. I would totally be invisible!

Invisible people are evil. Good people are visible and fly. And neither of them fights crime.

Well if God really existed, we wouldn't have to artificially engineer people this way, now would we?

As is often the case on PZ Myers' blog - Some of the comments are quite funny. Here are a few: Posted by: Rox December 8, 2009 12:54 AM So Dr. Charlton believes that it is bad to 'overuse' one's intelligence. Well, at least…

I liked Andrea's title; it was provocative and made me want to read it. It also summed up the main issue in the rest of her post. If some one is too lazy to read the rest of it, well, then that is their fault for being lazy. I don't think…

Awwww Andrea *HUGS*. Girl, I have definitely had people refer to my atheism as "white" behavior. Most of the time these people are other Latinos. A common term for me is coconut:white on the inside and brown on the outside. :(

I really want to be able to become invisible. Can't they genetically alter me so I can become invisible? Isn't that what happened to one of the X-Men? Then I could buy a "super-suit" and get a fancy cape. While they are at it…

I was forwarded this little ditty today

http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/34045.God_vs_Science

I get these far too often, so at first I was annoyed. However, after having listened to a lecture by Carolyn Porco as part of the RDF series, I began to notice a trend when it comes to these types of emails, and I thought maybe this shouldn’t go into my email spam after all. Why not attempt to understand the… Continue

Why The Fark Not?: A Lengthy Justification on Why I Choose to Curse

Posted on October 28, 2009 at 12:05am 23 Comments

This phenomenon has many labels: profanities, blasphemies, vulgarities, swear words and curse words. But what exactly makes one word profane and another harmless? Why do most people in the US seem to gasp at the mention of fuck yet have a more subdued reaction to something like copulation if they basically are both vocal markers of the same action? Is it enough to suggest that fuck is considered offensive merely because it is? If so, what makes it thus if not meaning? Is there anything… Continue

Greetings, Mymelody! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Hi and welcome to this excellent site whose members, like yourself, quietly recognise that religion is nothing but a fraud, and God and gods are fictions and superstitions in the minds of the credulous.
Also, I just read your blog and will go back to it and add some of my reflections about its subject matter.

Terry Meaden originator of the busy group
"ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Earth, Humankind, Fossils, Religion, Evolution, Darwin..." with its over 200 discussion topics.
We talk about the world’s great questions including how life and humans, religion and faith, and everything else began.

We invite you to come and enjoy the entertaining discussions.
