"What you say, L. Alcorn, might be true. Political tyranny was widespread then and it caused enough pain in people's lives to move them to imagine a happy life after they die. Do you have stronger evidence than that? "

Early Christianity

The use of hallusagenic mushrooms played a role in early Christian thought. John, "the loved disciple" of the crucified man that lives somewhere in Earth's atmosphere, wrote the book of Revelation on the island of Patmos. Perhaps, he partook of the Holy mushroom?

How about sending up some southern Indiana warmth? Yesterday, while it was 70 in your parts, it was only 50 here. Big disparity. I'm sick of it. How you doing? Find that house in the Hoosier Nat. Forest you're looking for?

Ah, a fellow Hoosier! I happened across your reference to growing bean sprouts. I am in the process of trying it for the first time, using soybeans. It's working. I'm just afraid to eat them--maybe it's the smell that turns me off. Any suggestions?

Thanks!  I imagine there are a lot of people with the same name.  I've only come across one other.  Still, there is probably a distant connection.

The beans sound good.  We are getting into gardening season here too.

Welcome to Nexus!

I wonder how many Alcorns there are?  My mothers' last name was Alcorn.  Scattered through her family tree there were multiple "George Washington Alcorn" and "John Rain Alcorn".  They migrated westward, I think from PA, and wound up in western Illinois.  Maybe they left a few relatives in Indiana!  Her uncle, I think, was Loren Alcorn. There are no relatives remaining who I am aware of.

Anyway, welcome again to Nexus.  Here you find many who are not tied to religious dogmas and fantasies.  Down to earth and friendly.
