As atheists, we should be a bit more careful with our taxinomic nominclature. That "creature" depected in the cartoon below is a Santapede. I'm surprised someone hasn't pointed that out already!
Also, *fear* isn't quite the word, either, is it? Even in the case of homophobes, don't they react to gays with something more like distaste or shunning than with fear, usually? Is there a short Latin suffix that means something like…
So, is the way one would point this out something along these lines:
"Mister/Ms special kind of believer who thinks that all but your special kind of believers are immoral, is there anything in particular that you do or don't do…
I originally joined as Mind Dancr, using as my avatar Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring. I've been going by that name, online, for about 15 years. But, I'm realizing, this place calls for real names and photos, so I'm providing that, now, only in a way to make it less search-engine friendly.

Likely not related--my family has only ever been in Florida(Mother's side) or Alabama(Father's Side), no one has left or moved anywhere else, although, my great-grandmother once lived in New York as a child, she was an immigrant.
Hmmmm - I'm wondering if you've been reading my stuff or just guessing. I went to the International School of Brussels in 67-70. I'm 47. I also went to the International School of Geneva 78-82.
That is Thomas Paine - I live about a mile and a half from his former home in Bordentown, NJ. It took a long time to extrapolate his major contribution to US democracy so that it truly was inclusive - but he was the champion of populist democracy. His idea is that the group can be smarter than any individual within it - which, when there are enough ideologies represented - is being proven scientifically right now.
