I never had any faith to loose really but I did not doubt that god existed, so insofar as I recognised my own doubts about religion in general I still thought God existed (to the point where I though he would be annoyed if I attend church - like by walking through the doors I'd be appearing under a magnifying glass carry an illuminated sign: I DON'T BELIEVE IN YOU)
It seems a bit ridiculous now but I put it down to a young brian grappling with ideas it was quite sure how to file. So it sort of hadn't occurred to me that god he could probably tell that if I was stood outside of the church too (If I believed he could see me anywhere) nor that by doubts would ultimately lead to including his very existence. It was all very one sided: I didn't feel I had any faith at all. Talking to the weather was doing nothing for me. So I sort of affirmed doubt while believing in something I didn't yet know was false.) And that's how things were up and until I got into my late teens, then once I began actually asking questions it all just fell away.

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone.
