I identify as Female but I'm actually transgendered, to be specific a male to female transsexual still in transition. I am passionately interested in music, film and literature. Not to mention the whole Gothic/Victorian/Industrial/Steampunk/Cyberpunk ethos. I really am 51 and none of this is new, my psyche was birthed at an early age heavily influenced by the writings of people like H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, Michael Moorcock, Tanith Lee among many others. Music was also a seminal influence, bands like Siouxsie & the Banshees, Joy Division, the Slits, Nina Hagen and others all influenced my aesthetic sensibilities. there were many other things - art & film for example that contributed but for me the main thing is I never atrophied, became stuck in the tastes of my youth neither did I "grow up" renounce my past & embrace the orthodox/mainstream/conventional/normal - in other words the blinkered, the bigoted, the hypocritical, the racists, the politcally correct, the homophobes - well the list just goes on and on doesn't it? Suffice it to say I've continued on my own path through life following my own drum :-)

Greetings, Michaela! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
Hi Michaela. I just added you to my friends, i hope you don't mind =). I've just joined this site this afternoon so i'm still figuring my way around it. You seem like an intelligent and interesting person...Also, i'm from Newcastle too. Have a great day.
Hola Chica! I love your comment ha ha ha! I'm a queerdykefeminist with anti-rabies shots that are up to date, so despite the les-fem tag, I don't bite... Unless I am asked (nicely!). Kisses to you. Have a beautiful day. :-*
Hi, Michaela! I meant to reply to your comment a long time ago, but haven't been on here much! My opinion is, the older the history, the more interesting it is, particularly from a secular point of view. Unfortunately most of my education has focused on modern history, but when I finally graduate I hope to have more time to explore ancient history. Classic civilizations are definitely fascinating; they affect so much of our world, even today!
It's very cool. I know how difficult it can be to organize people around the idea of non-religion, so it's nice that so many of us can get together, share ideas, and make personal relationships.
