I don't suppose now that Dick Spicer has got all huffy and puffy resulting in his resignation from the HAI that he's really packing his bags for Atheist Ireland where his mate, the Pope, will graft him directly into the hierarchy?

So, I'll be in Dublin this Saturday through Thursday. Are there any activities that yo are involved with that a fellow atheist might enjoy during that time?

Thanks

Welcome to "I write..." Considering the contribution Ireland has made to world literature you have a lot to live up to! No, that's not a criticism or a negative comment. I'm a fan of the Irish Greats, particularly The 3rd Policeman, At Swim-Two-Birds, Ulysses, poetry by Shamus Heaney. The list could go on. There's a tradition that's out of all proportion to population size that's just plain stunning. So, looking forward to reading your work.

Wyoming is better than the southeast, from what I've seen. It's still a solid red state, though. My big point was that there are no cities. The closest it has are Cheyenne and Casper, each of which are around 50,000 people. The entire state barely…

I was in Panama City this past weekend, but I didn't have any free time. I was there for my brother-in-law's pinning. He was promoted to Major in the Air Force. The promotion ceremony was full of God and Jesus references, and the invocation was give…

I saw a video, or a blog post once that listed all the uncomfortable and illogical things that a person must do, according to Jesus' own words, in order to follow him. The list included hating your family, selling all your possessions, etc. I'm pret…

It's weird, but I never had the typical reaction to atheists when I was a believer. Oh sure, they were headed for hell, but I didn't presume to know or understand the reasons *why* they didn't believe. I didn't auto-dismiss them or hate their existe…
