It just sounds like a stress related disorder was encouraged by a diagnosis of a doctor, then alleviated by the assurances of an alternative health care provider, which reduced the stress and alleviated the symptoms.

Michael Fulton replied to eric stone's discussion 'What is best country or state for non-believers'
I'm one of those "atheists in boots," living in the South. I love country music, I drive a truck with mud on the sides, and own a shotgun.  I've exaggerated the stereotype by developing a cache of racist and sexist…

Seeing as how Dawkins wasn't involved except to support the idea. I don't see how he had any affect on it.

Michael Fulton replied to Jezzy's discussion 'Is Atheism A Choice?'
When I was a kid, I was an atheist. But I wanted to believe, and struggled with belief until relatively recently. Eventually I ended up back at atheism simply because I couldn't reconcile my enjoyment of reading history and myths and legends,…

Michael Fulton replied to §kürrý's discussion 'Do You Listen to Religous Music?'
I listen to a lot of country and folk music, much of which has religious themes to it. Some of it bugs me, some of it I ignore. Some just goes well with the song.

Howdy

Reallized that though I registered here a bit ago, I've not made any posts and just lurkered a lot.   So... howdy.   So, what can I say about myself...   To the benefit of honesty and brevity, let me first state I'm a bit of a fool.  Aside from that, I get less joy from thinking than from doing something, and enjoy  gdoing martial arts and bike riding, though I do enjoy reading about history and work at a tech support center.  Other than that... well, I grew up in Florida, went through all the…See More

Hello to Michael Fulton and welcome to this friendly meeting place with freethinkers who recognise that gods are fictions and that religions exist to control vulnerable superstitious people including defenceless children; and how tragic and inexcusable it is that women and minorities have been oppressed these last two thousand years and longer.
