"Given that the primary sponsor of religion is the US governement by way of the mostly phony dedections I really don't expect it. But just for the heck of it... why not try to get some statistics?? The emperical evidence should prove my point."

Efficacy of various religions study

I am wondering if anyone has ever performed an "efficacy" study of various religions in order to determine more accurately the "one true religion" if there is any. This is to say, I suggest an empirical analyses of all major religions to consider average cancer rates; heart disease rates; accident rates etc. For goodness sakes, if there is a "one true religion" in which the followers never get sick or into accidents we should all know about it!! Could we get the government to sponsor an…See More

"Paying for this is simple. The government will simply revise rates to be paid for specialist visits and for certain procedures. Currently the rate for many specialists is in the area of 500 dollars for a 5 minute evaluation. Forgive me for saying…"

I am Michael. I found Atheist Nexus by accident while browsing the web. I am an American living in Vietnam where ironically the country has gone from the most dangerous place to be to the safest in terms of national security and in terms of freedom to not believe in religion. Sometimes people here ask me what religion I belong to. I tell them that I belong to the one in which no follower of the religion ever gets a toothache. I usually get a puzzled look and then a warm smile when telling them…See More

Adding my 2 cents to the healthcare debate

Except for the very wealthy who have excellent healthcare and the destitute who have at least some healthcare everyone in between is at extreme risk that the development of a serious medical condition could lead to being locked to an employer or be excluded from cover completely since in practicality a person working for a low wage or who is out of work simply can not afford the high premiums with or without a tax break. Thus, for people who have "done the right thing" by working and building… Continue

Hi Michael, welcome. I was just listening to a a radio interview with an Australian architect talking about living in Ho Chi Minh today - he reckons great food, weird toilets, what's with all the lights in his apartment (?), smog like brush fires every day, people sleeping on the floor of offices and banks in the middle of the day, wonderful friendly people and spring rolls with scallops and banana. Sounds like a real roller coaster ride!

Hope you enjoy the site!
