Recovering from Religion

Unless you were raised by atheist parents, you probably had some recovering to do when you left religion. The purpose of RR is to provide a landing place for people when they jump from religion. With local support groups throughout the US, Canada, UK, and Australia, and real-time resources accessible to everyone, RR is where to turn when faith has lost its luster.See More

We debate origins of the Universe, life, Earth, humans, religion, atheism, using common sense, evolution, cosmology, geology, archaeology, and other sciences, to repel biblical creationism and other religious beliefs.

Heh, you don't have to keep it to yourself; just be ready to be challenged on it, if you're going to be vocal about it.  Most of the people who consider themselves part of the "New Atheism Movement" are skeptics first, atheists second.  Most of the people on this site fall into that category.

You'll find a lot more Secular Humanists than you will Buddhists around here.

Welcome, Melinda! Glad you could join us. :D

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Women Atheists, Female Atheists, and possibly Feminist Atheists.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.

The skeptics might just have an issue with you, if you adopt some of the more religious beliefs of some Buddhist groups.  Reincarnation and the Buddhist "if it feels true for you, then it's true," thing don't work so well for anyone of a scientific mindset.
