Mark replied to dr.n.ashokkumar's discussion nonreligious meditation in the group Psychology
"Sure. Just ignore the religious trappings and stick to the practice. This resource works for me: http://www.urbandharma.org/udharma4/mpe.html It includes some of the religious background in which it's contextualised, but you can skip over…"

Mark replied to Edward Teach's discussion Accepting People with Differing Personality Styles in the group Psychology
"But, it is based on solid statistics showing validity and reliability. Got any references? The one you posted was just a summary - no stats. It also reported that scores vary over time. That suggests poor test-retest reliability. Also, a comparison…"

Mark replied to Adriana Heguy's discussion How Nonsense Sharpens the Intellect in the group Psychology
"That's something that has always struck me as counter-productive about the way some people go about promoting critical thinking - no-one agrees with someone who insults them, even if the insulter is right."

Mark replied to Adriana Heguy's discussion How Nonsense Sharpens the Intellect in the group Psychology

Mark replied to Skylar's discussion Obedience to Authority and Conformity in the group Psychology

Thanks for reading the blog post and for your comment. I worked for the lab as a research assistant for a year before getting a chance to be the manager. The principle investigator of the lab decided to move himself and all his grad students to Scotland and left me to run the branch of the lab in the states. Really just incredibly lucky.
