I think the point of posting here was to get Atheist|Nexus members involved. The Atheism board is more for talk related to atheism/anti-theism/non-theism, though it could also be posted there as well as your new writers group! :)

I think this is posted in the wrong section of the discussion forum :) This is for site suggestions - as in the Atheist Nexus site. There's another area for "All Things Atheism" where this might be more appropriate.

Thanks Margaret! Despite a cyber-attack on the Convention website this week, sales are going really well - and the extra publicity didn't hurt either! Let us know if you end up in south-east Queensland when you're in Oz - I can probably arrange a speaking engagement for you at Embiggen Books. Their last speaker was Professor Ian Frazer, the scientist who developed the Gardasil vaccine. In any case - if you're in the Brisbane area, let me know and we can catch up. Cheers, Kris

Hi Margaret,

I hadn't thought about going to the FFRF convention. I may possibly go. If so, I'll see you there...

Hi Margaret! As well as hosting the Aussie/Kiwi group here on Nexus. I'm also the media and communications consultant for the forthcoming "Rise of Atheism" Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne in March 2010. The Convention is being organized jointly by Atheist Alliance International and the Atheist Foundation of Australia.

I know that you have a wide contact network, and we'd be most grateful if you could let your atheist friends and colleagues know that tickets for the convention are now available online at the Convention website. We are expecting nearly 3,000 delegates, so this convention is going to be huge.

Confirmed speakers include: Richard Dawkins, AC Grayling, PZ Myers, Dan Barker, Peter Singer, Taslima Nasrin and many more.

Anything you can do to help us get the word out would be greatly appreciated.

I hope we might see you at the Convention also!

Well done Margaret.
Coming from the UK, it's astounding to me that you have the Commandments stuck outside your courthouse there! Keep up the free thinking. Geoff

Why do we exist? As far as I can tell, we're here simply as the result of a series of fortunate accidents. Life arose on this planet by natural processes and humans are just one of the myriads of experimental life forms that evolution produced.
