Every year, the Religious Right pushes "Pulpit Freedom Sunday". They encourage pastors to endorse candidates from the pulpit. This sort of electioneering violates the IRS 501(c)(3) code, and should result in revocation of tax-exempt status. http://www.change.org/petitions/the-president-of-the-united-states-revoke-tax-exempt-status-of-political-churches
