While promoting atheism, Harris examines spirituality by means of considering philosophy, neuroscience and mysticism rather than displaying tacit disdain for it. He warns of the threat that fundamentalist religion poses to human progress and survival
Ya know Alex- I cannot remember (Crumwiddy sounds familiar). This was around 2003. He was openly sexist. When it came time to write the critiques on him, it took all the women in the class about 45 minutes to write.
Judd- saw you on the Charlotte…
I had the mayor(?) of Abbeville as my economics teacher at Piedmont tech- he is such a loser!!! Greenwood and I did not get along. I was there for 7 years (97-2004), worked at Goodrich and K-mart, and my ex was a greenwood city cop, now I guess he…
I am all for gay marraige and for the life of me cannot understand why it is anyone elses business. My boyfriend is against the term 'marraige' being used, as are many people. He is a militant atheist...go figure...

Hi!! I am happy and releived. When my father died back in Jan of 08, I felt a great relief knowing he just...died... He has no soul to go anywhere-all his fears and pain are just gone. When I die-I will just cease to be and that takes TONS of weight…
I was raised a catholic from the time I was 16 days old (baptized) until I was in my early 20's. I always knew something did not make sense, but out of respect for my family- I kept my mouth shut and made my 1st communion & confirmation. Now that 20+ years have passed, those that it meant the most to have died and those left just don't really care either way. Living in the bible belt has been different for me, but I have adjusted well-especially with the help of the Charlotte Atheist group. However..I am now single living in Ithaca NY and working with the local meetup group to make this a better place!!!
Greetings, Liz! I see you haven't been active lately. I'd like to invite you to a group where we talk about anything on our minds, . :D BTW, I love cats too. ;D
Hi
Welcome to Atheist Nexus with its 8000 good friends.
A useful group to join, with its 130 discussions and numerous video films, is “ORIGINS” (Origins: Universe, Life, Humans, Evolution, Religion....).
One discussion (over 70 posts) is "Proud to be Atheist". There's much to feel good about
because atheists and humanists hold the intellectual high ground—far from the mental slavery of superstitious people who submit to a narrow-minded controlling clergy with their imaginary god, heaven and hell.
