I had fun today! I made plans to go down to the courthouse, pay the fee, sign the form and get a notary commission. In Georgia it's astonishingly easy to become a notary. Two people from your county affirm you're an upstanding citizen. You take that and a photo ID to the clerks office of your county, pay $30, take an oath, and congrats you're a notary!

I don't know exactly how this will go, but I have a lot of respect for this man. I've known him for 4 1/2 years now. I forget how the subject came up at all, but yesterday (seeing as it's now 2am) I 'came out' as an Atheist to him. He seemed rather surprised. (Seeing as I live in Georgia most people are surprised. I'm almost positive he waited to retire on purpose! The article mentions how burned he was by the 2000 election. Yeah Souter!

Crap... I sat down at lunch and read a little of Leviticus. I live on the buckle of the bible belt, so sitting with a bible at lunch is something I see every day. I was in a cafeteria. Every so often I laughed out loud! I couldn't help it!!! Heads turned. Eyebrows raised.

A few minutes ago there was a knock at the door. I usually don't answer the door - it's always bible beaters. Well, it was. :-D

They said I was the first atheist they had come across. We talked for a few minutes and they were interested in setting up a time to meet and talk further. I'm meeting them when my shift ends today at starbucks... this is going to be FUN!!!
