Hi - My name is Leslie, and I am the Founder and President of the Reed Secular Alliance in Portland, Oregon. I have also spearheaded the Freethought Books Project, which seeks to give atheist, freethinking, and progressive literature to inmates across America. We also donate to mental hospitals, low-income individuals, and other worthy organizations. Aside from my activism, I love reading nonfiction books, the Houston Astros, and baseball more generally. As for me personally, I am a Junior Linguistics major at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. When I grow up, I hope to be a social theorist, academic, and political activist.

Greetings, Leslie! I see you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since 2009. We have a new group where you might feel more at home. Please consider joining Hang With Friends , where we can share our stories and laugh, and discuss anything on our minds.
I help lead the Secular Parenting Meetup here in the Portland area which is sponsored by the CFI Community of Portland. I am spreading the word anywhere I can that Dale McGowan will be here on the 18th to do a workshop on his parenting book, Parenting Beyond Belief. If you know of any parents or students in the child education field, I'd love it if you could pass this info on to them. thx! Dani Delete Comment
I'm co-organizer of the local Flying Spaghetti Monster meetup group here in Portland. We'd heard Reed had a secular group, and am glad (but not surprised) to find that rumor confirmed. Check out our page on Meetup.com and feel free to drop in on our events any time.
Thanks for the invite. This is the first time I have ever joined an social-network website, and you are my first friend on the network. Unlike you, I have never been openly atheist (too dangerous). Things are changing, though. My goal is someday to be as active as you are. Keep up the great work.
