Love stretching cultural borders

Posted on August 9, 2008 at 3:30pm 0 Comments

I think most people would agree that love is a strange thing. When you are in love, you loose all logic and reason. The newest way to fall in love is internet dating, which has become immensely popular during the past years. However, internet dating aside, the MMO community has recently caused a lot of weddings to be held all over the world, made people marry each other despite cultural differences, language barriers and huge distances keeping the lovers apart. It has also maybe quite… Continue

The common rudeness of people

Posted on July 24, 2008 at 7:00am 11 Comments

One thing which strikes me since I work in a telephone all day is how rude some people are. My work is to be a telemarketing seller, I think I am quite adept at my work and I can't say I perform worse than anyone else here. Telemarketing is a little about luck, sometimes people never respond, sometimes you never reach the wanted recipient. In any case, one thing which is quite noted in this work is how rude people are when responding to you in the telephone. It's as if they can be a little… Continue

Between the great and sublime

We lie down to sleep

Near the calm of trees

We breathe heavily

Watching up at the starry sky

Seeing which cannot be seen

Feeling only what our bodies cannot feel

Is this the end of the world?

Between the earth and the skies

In the embracement of light

We are fulfilled

"There is so much more to be said

There is so much more to be done"

We hear they whisper

While we rest underneath the heavy… Continue

About Me
Bored 20-year-old trying to find the truths of life. Otherwise I just like to slack some time, including playing World of Warcraft, reading or even writing fantasy/horror, enjoying a good movie (just finished season 3 of Dexter) or performing anything else equally nerdy. I also like to write and perform music of various kinds. Check it out at my DeviantArt account.

I have never been religious, I do however consider myself a pagan, but more akin of Spinoza's god/Taoism than New Age paganism.

I also believe we need to learn how to appreciate and enjoy even the small things in life more, we Westerners certainly need it :)

Hi. I just joined and really connected to what you said in this post. It seems even atheists can be closed minded.

Greetings, LeaT ! I'd like to invite you to a group where we talk about anything on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You won't necessarily find truths, but it's a cure for boredom. ;)

I was reading this which you wrote;
" But so was I, and I am not lesbian :) I am clearly straight as I consider lesbian sex disgusting. For a very long time I favored women who acted like men in fiction and such, and I even to this very much dislike the genderview on women and how they should act. I am most likely queer, having these thoughts, but I am definitely not homosexual."

You may be transgendered...That's what it sounds like to me.

Ah I see; too bad, really, I liked where it was going :)
I'm only semi-active, really.. I show my face for a bit, then disappear again. As with anything, basically x) I'd almost forgotten about this place for about a year, then ran into it again and figured I'd have a little look. The thing is, as I live in a fairly secular country, I have much less of a need to find a specifically atheist community, because most of the people around me are atheists, or at least agnostics.. I enjoy the intellectual discussions, but there's a lot of rubbish around as well and I don't have the time or patience to go through all of it to see if there's anything I can contribute. I'd hate to have to think of myself as some pseudo-intellectual who'll discuss anything for the sake of discussing it.

Hello there! Just thought I'd come say hi =) I enjoyed your song, Going Home, though it feels unfinished.. Though from what I gather upon a glance at your comments, I believe it is, heh.

So it's a work in progress? Or, you could let it be and seek more complexity in your future compositions.

Wow! Amazing song you've written and performed, Lea. Sublime. It sounds very "true", if that makes sense.

Happy birthday!

And no, I'm not Taoist but I do appreciate some of their metaphors. For example, relating to that forum post, I appreciate the wisdom of acceding to opposition. So while I do not believe in gods of any sort, I completely accept that the idea of god is alive and well in the minds of adherents. So advocating atheism must involve working with that idea, not against it. Hopefully that makes sense.

My name is just a play on the Dow Jones.

And yes, you are quite sharp. :)
