Hi. I just joined and really connected to what you said in this post. It seems even atheists can be closed minded.
" But so was I, and I am not lesbian :) I am clearly straight as I consider lesbian sex disgusting. For a very long time I favored women who acted like men in fiction and such, and I even to this very much dislike the genderview on women and how they should act. I am most likely queer, having these thoughts, but I am definitely not homosexual."
You may be transgendered...That's what it sounds like to me.
I'm only semi-active, really.. I show my face for a bit, then disappear again. As with anything, basically x) I'd almost forgotten about this place for about a year, then ran into it again and figured I'd have a little look. The thing is, as I live in a fairly secular country, I have much less of a need to find a specifically atheist community, because most of the people around me are atheists, or at least agnostics.. I enjoy the intellectual discussions, but there's a lot of rubbish around as well and I don't have the time or patience to go through all of it to see if there's anything I can contribute. I'd hate to have to think of myself as some pseudo-intellectual who'll discuss anything for the sake of discussing it.
And no, I'm not Taoist but I do appreciate some of their metaphors. For example, relating to that forum post, I appreciate the wisdom of acceding to opposition. So while I do not believe in gods of any sort, I completely accept that the idea of god is alive and well in the minds of adherents. So advocating atheism must involve working with that idea, not against it. Hopefully that makes sense.
My name is just a play on the Dow Jones.
And yes, you are quite sharp. :)
