When people find out I'm a vegan they often start asking about what can I eat and assume that my choices are limited. Actually, in my opinion, vegan diets are often much more interesting and I don't feel limited at all.

I dont know how long it has been since you last visited but Maryville has grown quite a bit in the fifteen or so years I have lived here. It seems that everything within a 30 mile radius of Knoxville is just a suburb of the city.

As a child, it just seemed wrong to me to eat other beings. But as I had little choices, I ended up reverting several times until college. Once I did more research into the meat & dairy industries, I was convinced that veganism was the way to go.

I think that in my Moms case, it's costing them more than she paid in, but we still add some on top of that.

If his medical insurance pays for a social worker, they might be able to identify some resources for you. What a difficult situation for you...

At 9:37am on December 18, 2008, Sentient Biped said…: I think it's special! My mom's dementia has progressed to the point where she doesn't know who I, or my dad, is. SHe can no longer say words. She is spoon fed. She's getting great care, and I really respect the wonderful people who are caring for her. On the down side, the care center is religious based, but there dont seem to be any non-religious based places in her town, and even if there were, I would still choose the one that is the cleanest, brightest, nicest, for her end of days, regardless of affiliation.
