Greetings, Kianna! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Kianna I would like to invite you to the atheist meet up in Cincinnati plus I am trying to start up a free thought group at NKU where the non religious can meet group i like listening to the music on peoples profiles it's free what can I say and you can tell a lot about someone based on that and I think you are cool. I just want to meet up with other black freethinkers like myself for a while kind of gets lonely feeling like the only black person in my area who is a freethinker

It's real cool to see a black female freethinker (especially a beautiful one) because it's like a real under represented group. I wish more of our people could see through the bullshit religious lies dat out slaveowners fed to us. Everyone's a slave unless they're thinkin free.

I am a sociologist in the Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Criminology at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. I have studied and published on the nexus of domestic violence and religion for more than ten years now. Recently, however, my research interests have been moving in a different but still familiar direction. I’ve begun interviewing African American atheists/secularists/humanists/skeptics/freethinkers to derive their critique of religion, the Black church, and the consequences that may follow in having a non-theistic or skeptical stance.

As you can imagine, Kianna, attaining African American atheist respondents is MAJOR undertaking. Therefore, when I saw your profile in Atheist Nexus, I immediately decided to take a chance and contact you! At this point, I’m collecting personal narratives from men and women of color, who choose freethinking and a rational world view.
