A recovering Hoosier, I was raised by my Grandfather, a Methodist minister, along with my Mom and Grandmother. In college, I tried becoming a Christian fundamentalist. I lived at "The Greenhouse", an off-campus ministry consisting of six guys sharing a house and trying to spread the "Good News." I was even "ordained" as a minister in a non-denomination church in order to "bring souls to Jesus" more effectively.
During this time, I studied the Bible a lot. The more I read, the more inconsistencies I found -- inconsistencies neither I nor anyone I met could explain away. I was just supposed to pray for the wisdom to understand His Word.
I'm still waiting for an answer. I'm not holding my breath.
