I can't believe I'm defending Catholic school, but here goes....

Several people who've known that I went to Catholic school seem to have a lot of misconceptions about Catholic school. Since I said in my intro post that Catholic school, to their detriment, taught me to think critically. This was my reply, which I thought would share:
Not to be insulting to you, but people seem to have some pretty ignorant views of Catholic school based solely on stereotypes and urban myths. We didn't pray in every class, or have nuns walking around…

I went to Catholic school and much to the Church's detriment, it taught me to think critically. As I slowly let go of Catholicism, I began searching to fill void that having a defined religion left. I turned to The Goddess, paganism, and new age. It intrigued me for childish reasons. I enjoyed rituals because I liked playing with stones, candles, oils, bells, apples, colors, etc. Slowly, I realized that it was also not the way. The real reason I got so mad at that post is that you took the killing of innocent children and twisted it to prove a point, or at least it seemed like that to me, and I just have no tolerance for someone who does things like that, especially if I think that they're above all of that, like I did with you.
I just really can't believe I said all that, in high school I beat a guy up for saying shit like that to a girl. I could make up excuse after excuse to try and explain it, but I'm not going to. I really don't care if your forgive me or not, I just did this so I could at least have a shot at looking at myself in the mirror again. So, if by chance you do forgive me, lt me know.
