I was born in Chicago to an ex-Catholic agnostic father and spiritual (although not religious) mother and spent 13 years in Catholic school. I've lived in Chicago most of my life spending 5 years in Missouri while in college and when I got married and 2 years outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
I now live in a small town outside of Vancouver, WA with my husband of 11 years and our 5 heathen children.

Ken McKnight said… - I was always open about my atheism with my daughter, but never tried to force my beliefs on her. In her teens she went through a gung-ho Christian phase and I was happy to take her to church and drop her off. During her first year in college she started to date a Scientologist and that really scared me. Now she describes herself as an agnostic.

I noticed you're from Chicago, and I got my masters degree at the University of Chicago many years ago. Do you enjoy living there? You must be very busy with four kids in that age range. My only daughter is in college in San Francisco now. Are you "out" as an atheist? Does your husband know? Do you plan to raise your kids without religion?
