I think this is a neat idea for a group, but I see one potential problem. As a university professor, my experience has been that individual faculty within a department may be either atheist-friendly or not and that what matters most is not that the…

Who really knows what to say in these things? I guess the things that stand out most is that I am involved in wetland restoration, sustainability, tissue engineering, transgenic bacteria, immunology/virology, and drug development, but I don't suppose this is to be a resume... I like philosophy. I enjoy reading/writing fiction. I enjoy learning languages and calligraphy. I like to make my own circuits and to do other crafty things around the house (book binding, candle making, soap making, etc). I grew up in Minerva, OH but am now in Pittsburgh for school.

Greetings, Joshua! Love the goat. I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus lately. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
