Hello John: Thanks for the message. I am new to any form of social networking and still find it awkward to write about myself, however I am glad to learn this site is amongst the best. I is still very special to have so many like minded folks and connected to the internet.
I was raised by a Jewish mother on welfare who was not part of the local Temple, however she saw Jesus in a dream and took her two kids to Methodist church for about a year and I learned the culture. Later after joining the Navy I tried the 'leap of faith' of Christianity. Found a book about science and after a couple of months of religion, realized I was an atheist and never hid my views. A fellow sailor in a training school found me after transfer to a California air base and told me that my influence caused him to become a Mormon. I told him immediately that I had reconsidered and was now an Atheist. He is still religious and living out of State. Unfortunately, religion closed his mind and we have nothing of interest in common. What type of law did your firm do? My experience was mostly defending L.A.P.D for the City of L.A. Had a lot of fun asking deponents if they really understood the meaning of the god oath[ optional ] and sometimes explained to them about burning in hell if they lie[ borrowing from Jonathan Edwards famous sermon Sinners in the Hands of an angry God]. Did you have any problems being an atheist at work?
