A formerly-catholic friend just told me that it was her atheist friends' wisecracks about the religion. But then my friend questioned the effectiveness of such wisecracks. Kind of contradictory.
Does it take good-natured "ridicule" to shake a devout catholic's unquestioning belief and get them to start asking questions? Or does ridicule make a catholic bury his head deeper in the sand to block out reason?
