Keep up the good work! It is very encouraging that more people of all colors and former conditions of delusion are coming to a more rational view of reality. Breaking the bonds of the mental slavery that is religious delusion is the next big step forward for humanity's social evolution.

For all it's worth I'm a "sista" who does not believe in god, and in reference to your recent talk about beating children as a form of discipline and a mother, I'm very much against that form of cruelty... I don't quite have the words to express my feelings right now. Anyway, I'm glad you're there and I hope one day to meet you and others like you. Right now I'm on a bit of a desperate quest to meet black freethinking women in my area for friendship...sure would be "different".

Great article on the conference and the NPR interview was good too. AHH/CFI put together a wonderful meeting to bring Black humanist out from behind veil silence that prevails in the black community nationwide. I'm sorry to see that Norm Allen was sacked by CFI but the work to free us from superstition,theistic nonsense, and the need to embrace rational thinking is more important than any one person. The work must go forward.

My parents are Catholic, too and we've been estranged since I 'came out' last year. My biggest fear are people prosthelytizing to my children. Thank you, and take care.-Traci

I just listened to the NPR pod cast with you and Norm Allen and it was great, I just wish you and Norm would have been given more time to elaborate. My father was also a member of the N.O.I. and my mother was a Baptist which made for an interesting upbringing in the projects of Brooklyn, N.Y. during the sixties and seventies. My sister (42yrs.) is a born again Christian, my brother (49yrs.) is an "uncircumcised Philistine", and I (51) never stopped questioning everything, which has landed me in the agnostic/atheist camp. Thank you for being an articulate and intelligent voice for critical thinking and critical questioning, especially in the Black community. Peace, Robert H.
