I was raised as a fundamentalist Christian but decided it didn't make much sense when I was in high school. I took some classes on different religions, anthropology, psychology, biology, chemistry, etc in college and decided I didn't believe in any gods. Then, when my kids were born, I had to decide what to teach them....this led to my discovery of humanism and I began identifying myself as a humanist.
My husband and I are the only atheists in a family of conservative Christians (on both sides) and it can be very frustrating at times. So, I started writing a blog to help me connect with other atheists online and get out some of my frustrations :)
