This could be the place to discuss the unique language and political problems of our little country (as long as it exists :-) ) French, Dutch and German messages are welcome!

indeed, I too get goosebumps and feel scared when I see a horror movie (dreams less so, I only had very livid dreams in my late teens), it's hundreds of thousands of years of evolution implanting fear of such things, it's only natural that our body…

I'm much the same. I discovered Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy through the TV series in the early 80s, loved it and devoured all five books in the trilogy, as well as the two Dirk Gently novels. It's not until after he died, and I read The Salmon of Doubt, that I began to appreciate quite what a remarkable man he was.

Hi Hugo. Thanks for the add and comment. Cute little girl on your shoulders. I can still remember my daughter doing that. There's nothing like it. Enjoy it while you can. It seems like yesterday, but now she's 17 and can't wait to get out of the house.

Synchronize blogs

Does anyone know if there is a way to automatically post to different blogs, I have a blogger account that I really like, I especially like the "blog via email" function, I mostly post by sending an email to the special blogger address, I rarely use the webinterface to post, if there was a way to do that for the blog on this site I could post to all blogs in one quick go, if anyone has any ideas

Chrome

Posting this with Google's new browser Chrome.
Looks really clean but I have so many useful add-ons in Firefox that I use all the time I do not think I'll be switching.
The one thing I'd really like to see in Firefox is the tearing away of tabs into their own window, that is just so awesome and useful.

Who knows Flew

The media keeps going on that Flew is supposed to be this well known atheist but I never heard from him before he decided to not be an atheist anymore and write a book about it.
I'm adding it here and on my own blog to reach as many people as possible.
So here's a poll about it:

Honestly, one of them could "rift" all she wants, and neither I nor my wife would be that upset. The other one is a big wimp. She's not likely to make a stink over it. She'll just pray harder. She's good at compartmentalizing that way.

It is true that many people take the path of religion to lead them out of destructive life styles. It is also true that people can do the same thing without a reliance on faith (you just don't hear about it as much). You sound like a very nice you…

I thought it was utterly brilliant that he said Abbot's offer of a billion dollars for Hobart hospital was immoral! His refusal of such a ridiculous bribe iis one of the first moral acts I've ever seen from a politician. Clearly the man will have a…

I've seen posts about the 50 commandments of jeebus put out by xtians that cite chapter and verse and you really don't need a commentary to go along with them. Boy it sure does kill the whole GOP/Tea Party platform.

From the article Tommy cited. "However, religious commentators have criticized Hawking's theorizing, saying he can never hope to explain what is essentially unexplainable." Well doesn't that kind of invalidate their own "god" theory then? ;p

Anybody else read it? I love the basic premise, and being an atheist means I can appreciate the mythology and not get bent out of shape about the multiple deities.

Wyoming is better than the southeast, from what I've seen. It's still a solid red state, though. My big point was that there are no cities. The closest it has are Cheyenne and Casper, each of which are around 50,000 people. The entire state barely…

I saw a video, or a blog post once that listed all the uncomfortable and illogical things that a person must do, according to Jesus' own words, in order to follow him. The list included hating your family, selling all your possessions, etc. I'm pret…
