I was talking about free speech with a friend of mine, my friend was pissed because ESPN banned Hank Williams Jr for comparing Obama to Hitler on Fox and Friends. He said we have free speech. To which I responded yes we have free speech but, that doesnt mean speaking your mind doesnt have consequences. I was talking about free speech with a friend of mine, my friend was pissed because ESPN banned Hank Williams Jr for comparing Obama to Hitler on Fox and Friends. He said we have free speech. Hello everyone! Im new to this site and wanted to make my presence known. I am an atheist. Which sometimes is hard to be when you're in the south and are related to some of the biggest religious fanatics known in the modern age.
Im amother of 2 boys ages 2 and 4. I do my best to protect them from religious brainwashing anytime it arises. Plz feel free to add me or respond to this post.

They're not on meetup.com like all of the Triangle groups are, though. Seems to be at http://www.charlotteatheists.com/. I don't know if there are any other groups in the Charlotte area.

- Ah, welcome. Are you contemplating moving to North Carolina or something? We've got some decent, local atheist groups, in the urban areas of the state. Out in the more rural areas though, it's a bit of a cultural wasteland.
