Yes, this can be frustrating. With me, it's not so much about ostracism but more about being seen as a harmless eccentric, though ("What, you really believe people come from monkeys?"). And a nasty feeling of alienation…"

Hi everyone :)
I'm new here, so this is just to say hello... & to admit that I'm excited about this network and the atmosphere here. Guess I'm currently the only member from a former USSR country?.. :) BTW sorry if my English is VERY far from perfect (I know it is).I was lucky to never get indoctrinated - so atheism just came naturally. I'm hopelessly in love with dialectical logic, so religion had no chance at all. :) Luckily, a/theism is still viewed as a matter of personal choice where I live... but it seems to be getting hotter. So it was great to find this place on the Net. Honest! :)

I have been running a discussion there (over 60 posts) about being "Proud to be Atheist" because we should all be proud--and those who can "loudly proud"--seeing that atheists and humanists hold the intellectual high ground over the pathetic nonsense of the fictions of irrational, superstitious god believers.
