This group is all about the freedom of expression, from an Atheist point of view. As the nonbelieving minority in a quasi-theocracy, it is essential to all we hold dear that our voices never fall silent.
I know people have already said it, but I've had amazing luck with OkC. Kinda seeing someone from it, and made several friends. It's pretty good. Free-thinking women have a lot better luck, because when narrowed down by religion atheist/agnostic men…
Calling all atheists of Central Georgia! Join our group of godless heathens that live in Warner Robins and it's surrounding areas. We will have meetings that will cover anywhere from politics to science to just plain fun.
Since any sort of argument against gay marriage that I have come across is related to religion, most atheists I know (myself included) don't see any reason why not. Who cares if they marry? I'm very supportive of the issue because it is dear to me f…
I like a lot of the stuff mentioned before, but I always get 'gentlemen" by mewithoutYou stuck in my head. The particular song isn't religious, but the band is mildly so. (signed to tooth and nail records, xian label.)
The guitars do it for me thou…
That was the character Bazooka.
The developmentally disabled guy with a rocket launcher from G.I. Joe.
Which I had to look up, because I didn't remember him either.
The public portions of my livejournal have all my biology/atheism/civil rights/etc posts in it. So feel free to wander there. :3
Hi! I am pretty terrible at self descriptions, but here goes.
I am a young 20s southern girl who drinks sweet tea and eats biscuits with apple butter for breakfast. I say "ya'll", leave the g's off the end of words, and believe myself to be generally adorable for doing so.
I am VERY socially liberal though. Very into civil rights, and am a HUGE supporter of education.
I was loosely raised xian, but never overly religious. I toyed around with trying on different religions around my early teen years before coming back to xianity simply out of a fear of completely letting go. I really think it was just in name though, because only a few years after that I proclaimed that I believed that "God showed itself to all the cultures of the world in ways that they understood", little did I know I was essentially pantheist.
Last year or two I began to see more and more people I know finally come into their atheism. I did some serious bible study out of curiosity, and realized I didn't believe their bullshit anymore. Honestly, if the Abrahamic God is real, I decided he wasn't worthy of my worship. I gave it up completely.
I have never felt so fulfilled.
Also, if you want to add me on Facebook feel free. Just mention you're from A|N and your url on here and I'll probably add you back. :3
Cool! I have definate interest from RevOxley who lives in Eastman (and i also found at atheist nexus), which is a little far, but maybe we could rotate locations depending on peoples. You or your interested friends could email me at irej24 @ yahoo.com and we could start figuring out we actually want out of the meetup group.
I have been unsuccessful in my search for a Warner Robins area freethinker/humanist/skeptic/atheist type meetup/support group, SO I suppose that I'll have to try to start one. First step - find some interested local people. Nothing solid planned yet.. just trying to see who else is out there. You interested?

Wyoming is better than the southeast, from what I've seen. It's still a solid red state, though. My big point was that there are no cities. The closest it has are Cheyenne and Casper, each of which are around 50,000 people.
The entire state barely…
I was in Panama City this past weekend, but I didn't have any free time. I was there for my brother-in-law's pinning. He was promoted to Major in the Air Force. The promotion ceremony was full of God and Jesus references, and the invocation was give…
I saw a video, or a blog post once that listed all the uncomfortable and illogical things that a person must do, according to Jesus' own words, in order to follow him. The list included hating your family, selling all your possessions, etc. I'm pret…
I sometimes wear the customary leather vest with the HOG Miami logo on the back but a closer look reveals the American Atheists and Freedom From Religion Foundation patches on the right rear side. My do-rag has a gold Atheist atom pin on the tail .…

It's weird, but I never had the typical reaction to atheists when I was a believer. Oh sure, they were headed for hell, but I didn't presume to know or understand the reasons *why* they didn't believe. I didn't auto-dismiss them or hate their existe…
