2013 NYC Day of Solidarity for Black Non-Belivers at Rio II Art Gallery

February 24, 2013 from 1pm to 4pm
The Day of Solidarity for Black Non-Believers (DoS) is held annually on the final weekend in February. Nonbelievers use this day as an opportunity to build genuine communal relationships and launch a wave of activism among non-theists of color. The DoS event is also an effort to bring out closeted nonbelievers and let them know that they are not alone. This is mostly a social get together and opportunity to build community with black secularists and their allies. Folks from all over the area can…See More

Humanism & Activism (+Fun) at Adam Clayton Powell Jr. NY State Office Building

August 26, 2012 from 1pm to 4pm
Our monthly discussion meeting, with casual meal to follow, is this Sunday. It will be the chance to touch base before fall schedules make many of our regular folk (especially our educators) distracted for months. This is also a great chance to share ideas before the presidential electoral comedy ramps up to absurdist tragedy. Our discussion theme this month is Activist Humanism. And vice versa. We'll be joined for the first part of our meeting by long time Harlem secularist and activist Nellie…See More
