We debate origins of the Universe, life, Earth, humans, religion, atheism, using common sense, evolution, cosmology, geology, archaeology, and other sciences, to repel biblical creationism and other religious beliefs.
I hate these things. There is always so much to say that it comes out in a jumbled mess. Let's see what happens...
I'm an atheist, obviously. I'm pretty grounded in science and logic, as it pertains to my hobbies as well as my career. I let people believe what they want, but I don't like when people try to force-feed me their morals or belief system. That upsets me and then I get rude.
I'm a very soft-spoken individual with a very slow temper, which makes having friendly debates or discussions much more fun. When someone is so hot-headed and adamant on their "side", they tend to be worthless to speak with. I try to be objective in everything I do (sometimes succeeding, other times not) and really pay proper attention to those around me and their ideals.
My job involves computers, to say the least. I used to say I was (am) a system administrator. But, I have changed my mind in this. I am a system administrator, but I am also a network administrator as well as a systems integrator. That's three separate professions, and I have to do them all on a daily basis. Needless to say, it's a bit stressful. That leads me onto my hobbies.
I *gasp* also tend to work with computers as a hobby, but in a different way than my job. I do computer programming and development. I once thought I would be a career developer, and sometimes I wish I still was, but I think that I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much and it would have ruined a great hobby for me.
Aside from computers I try to find slices of time for snowboarding in the winter (it's been rough), reading, and going outdoors. I live in Colorado, so we have beautiful summers and winters for various things. I hope to develop music into another hobby for me, but it also requires a lot of time. I'll see how it goes. I'll come back and read this someday and think "Yeah, that worked out really well for me." haha!
When I can afford it, I try to make my way over to Germany. I've been twice now, and have had tons of fun both times. I speak some German, though it is fleeting due to lack of practice. I have friends overseas who I spend time with when I go, but otherwise don't get to see. Traveling is, or has become something important to me. Once I made it across the ocean, I have a strong desire to keep going back. It's like a sickness!
Other than that, I guess I'm a bit goofy, as my girlfriend will attest to. But, normal people are no fun anyway. They can have their American Idol, Paris Hilton, and <insert trendy nonsense here>. I'm not missing out on anything.
