About Me:
I was raised as a fundamentalist christian (First Church of the Nazarene) and broke away from religion after doing an in depth study of the Bible and various science subjects. I am an active blogger on weareatheism and a published author.

My Book

"Tools for Debating Atheism" just released. Handy information for atheists that often have conversations with theists. I explain the logical fallacies often heard in theist arguments, some good science in layman's terms, apologetics, solipsism and much more.

The Irony of Intollerance

Posted on September 30, 2014 at 9:13am 13 Comments

So much of my family are right wing nuts. As such, I often see pro-military stuff on my Facebook. No biggie. I support the military and served in the Army.

Today I saw a video of some terrorists being vaporized by a hellfire strike. I did not find it disturbing. I have no problem watching animals like these die. I find it tragic that religion has infected their culture to the extent that such irrationality ultimately caused their early demise. But I dont have an issue…

Fix your Linux Bash

Posted on September 26, 2014 at 9:21am 10 Comments

Not really atheism related, but I know a lot of atheists that use linux (the rational choice for an operating system, just as atheism is the rational position on god claims - LOL). Here is how I fixed my bash vulnerability issue, aka the "Shell Shock" issue.

env X="() { :;} ; echo busted" /bin/sh -c "echo completed"

env X="() { :;} ; echo busted" `which bash` -c "echo completed"

#If you get busted, then do all of this:

An exhaustive study of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

Posted on September 22, 2014 at 1:38am 6 Comments

I had added a review of the 10 commandments in my second edition of my book "Tools for Debating Atheism" wherein I not only listed the two versions of the 10 commandments, but referenced the prescribed punishments for each commandment, a feature overlooked largely (and thankfully) by Christians. As most commandments require a punisment of death, it is a good thing that most Christians ignore THOSE orders from their god by using their own morality. Of course, as atheists see it, we can just…

the Deceptive God of Creationists

Posted on September 7, 2014 at 2:06am 7 Comments

Thinking about the creationist claims today. I was debating about the speed of light being finite, meaning that objects billions of light years away send their light on a trek that takes billions of years to reach us. As we can measure distances in space using various methods, and know the distances of remote objects, we can be sure that the universe is billions of years old since the light of such distant objects has indeed had time to reach us.

The creationist, who believes…

Hi Gregory! Welcome to Atheist Nexus and the Origins group.

I saw your post to the discussion I started about some people being indifferent to music and I very much share your love for music. I have it in my bones. What kind do you compose? (I have composed some also - only melody - and I am wondering if there is an overlap in our tastes.)

Also, since you have published there is a group called Atheist Writers that you might want to join. You can check it out at:

http://www.atheistnexus.org/group/atheistwriters

I too have done a little writing. I wrote a very logical and succinct disproof of the Biblical god concept that was published by the Science and Rationalists Association of India. Not only are all of the premises self-evident but it is founded in human limitations rather than having the weakness of depending on the proposition that there is something a god can't do. It is almost solipsistic. If you think it is valid feel free to use it provided of course that you give appropriate credit. I have a copyright on it and It is located at:

http://www.srai.org/the-biblical-god-concept-nullified/

Please get back to me about your music. Welcome again and I hope you enjoy the site.
