Michael Penn commented on Greg Smith's blog post Pastor hit with $200,000 in student loans
"Poor man. Maybe somebody ought to pray for him.   Ooppps! Can't believe I actually said that. It is a sad story but I think they could have got her a student loan backed by the feds if she was at least 18 years old."

"I never could watch the movie. I saw part of it but didn't want to watch all of it. "Noah" is a science fiction movie based on biblical drivel. Some people might be upset to hear that so let's put it another way. The bible story…"

"It ls an example of co-option in which a structure's used for one function evolves into another function. The eye is an example, which evolved from a light sensitive spot in primative cells."

About Me:
My name is Greg, I'm a student, and an Atheist. I can memorize a deck of shuffled playing cards, I play chess, and I kick ass at Command and Conquer! I try not to hate anything, but I do hate a lot of religions, and I can't help it, but I feel like life would be better if something like the rapture would happen and make most of them disappear. Yeah.. that would be the life.

Pastor hit with $200,000 in student loans

Posted on July 29, 2014 at 11:17pm 4 Comments

http://money.cnn.com/2014/07/28/pf/parents-student-loans/index.html

When his 27-year old daughter Lisa died suddenly of liver failure five years ago, Steve Mason was as devastated as any father would be.

He and his wife Darnelle immediately took in Lisa's three children -- ages 4, 7 and 9 at the time -- even though they knew it would be a huge struggle to support them. Steve earns…

I haven't been on here in a while lol. Right now my parents are watching Noah, and while I would like to watch it, they keep talking about all the "science" behind the "historical accuracy" of the bible story. So now I just can't enjoy the movie for what it is without being bothered about how...would stupid be the right word? It's my parents, and it feels mean to call it for what it is.

One can ALWAYS use good friends of like mind ;)~ I respect the no label thing BTW! Sometimes over the top atheists are just as bad as pentecostal christians! This website is really cool though! I thoroughly enjoy reading the opinions of well informed rational people!!

Your stated aims are excellent.

Welcome to Atheist Nexus with its 8000 good friends.

A science-based group you may like is “ORIGINS” (Origins: Universe, Life, Humans, Evolution, Religion..... ) with its 120 discussions and numerous video films.

One discussion (over 65 posts) is "Proud to be Atheist".
There's much to feel good about
because atheists and humanists hold the intellectual and moral high ground that is far removed from the pathetic superstitious god believers who are slaves to a narrow-minded controlling clergy and their imaginary beings.
