Greg, I guess I am really lost. My Army son is dead, and my Marine son leaves for Afghanistan AGAIN in September. I have a daugther that is only 14. I am living in fear, I do not think I can bury another child, and with the war as it is that is a real possibility.

I know I don't believe in the BIBLE, GOD or any GODS, but I do believe in paranormal stuff that I believe I have seen over the years. I am experiencing a bit of a shock to learn that most Atheist believe, when you die, it is over, lights out. I am not sure anymore. I just know that I don't now nor have I for over 30 years believed in the BIBLE, GOD or any GODS, I am not waivering on that issue at all. So what am I and how do I find others like me? People that believe something similar. I have searched the groups and I am not having any luck. I could use some guidance. I know I am close, but not quite there yet.

hey, greg,
very attractive blogpage; good luck with it.
you solicited comments and permitted their posting here.

both your second and latest blogs (sorry, didn't get to the first at the bottom:) were political in nature.
and what could be more timely and crucial than addressing the frightening, creeping religious fanaticism that imperils us all from without and within.
sometimes i think the entire human race, with precious exceptions, has been binging on kool-aid.

the 'bad faith award 2008' was a good blog about the 'near miss' scenario of sarah palin occupying the white house.
i like to think that this unstable, delusional (i'd like to use the c-word: i'm a great feminist but not politically correct) bitch has finally been dismissed by even 'normally religious' people as an incompetent joke ~ and the award certainly is richly deserved.
while hoping she's 'over', i guess one could make a case for a scenario of her going through a pygmalion treatment to return as a threat.
i do wonder how many people are writing doomsday fiction, ala 'left behind', about her rising like a phoenix-on-crack in 2012? good horror book idea:)

your USA 2.0 blog is beautifully written and i share some of your thoughts.
however, i couldn't have written such a hopeful blog even on the wonderful day of january 20; certainly not now.
mr. obama's intellect and, i also think, basic instincts are outstanding ~ and the hackneyed phrase 'consider the alternative' certainly applies.
but i am a much angrier and pessimistic individual than you, i suspect.
the selection of megalomaniac charlatan rick warren to do the requisite prayer-dance was inexcusable, in my opinion; and a scary portend of a style which might continue.

there are plenty of 'relatively' sensible (well, no religionist, especially christian, is sensible:) preachermen he could have chosen who were more grounded in the real world, know that evolutionary theory speciated our planet, and that GLBTQ people are unequivocally entitled to every single right afforded everyone else.
then, i find the plan to ramp up the war in afghanistan seriously objectionable; as well as his insistent pandering to the republican right with inumerable 'christian' references, and compromises on social issues already.
...only to find himself entirely mocked and rebuffed by these ass holes who live in a parallel-revisionist-history-obstructionist universe.

maybe his relative win with the stimulus plan, and the manner in which republicans behaved en masse like unattractive 5 year olds, will bring him back to his true ideals.
but it's real hard to trust a politician ~ even such a delightfully unique one as mr. obama.

The Rednecks are coming, the Rednecks are coming

Actually, the rednecks are here and everywhere. Let me say, I'm not a big fan of these people. That's putting it mildly. Need I describe them? You know who I mean. This seems to be the time of year when they come out of the woodwork. Here in Indiana, as the weather gets nice, the motorcyclists are out in full force. I hate the noise cycles make. Then there's the Indianapolis 500 fans, the majority of which are rednecks. Interview them or a typical Pacer fan (big news as they face the Miami…See More
