"I was introduced to His Dark Materials when I downloaded a massive quantity of eBooks while living in China. Unfortunately, I've not seen any of the other books in the series available for download. (Not that I've looked hard. I'm…"
"I usually hit up various websites (usually on about.com) and find some stuff we can make with science together. My mom doesn't mind that I'm teaching the kids math and chemistry to make rock candy, peanut brittle and other fun stuff.
"Hello and welcome!
While everyone else thought big, my first thought was small. I would have religion lose its grip on my family. A couple years ago my mom was having a bad time with life, and in her state of weakness got really deep in with some…"
"My mother has recently gotten into being a born again Christian, so she prays about everything. When she tells me she is praying for me, I smile warmly and say, "Thank you for your love, support and thoughts. It means a lot." She knows…"
"It's really sort of odd that I even know of Pharyngula. My little brother kept sending me links to that blog, but it took me a good 6 months to go to it without prodding. I'm just not much for any sort of Internet browsing, so I'm…"
"Funny you should bring up saving P.Z.'s pride. I found Atheist Nexus through Pharyngula, but once I got here I was overwhelmed with friendly people and choices of various groups. I've only been here for two days and already feel welcome to…"
I must ask, do you always think in such circular ways? I love your introduction. I could never get myself to be so verbose, so it amazes me with it's depth yet how it barely breaks the surface of an introduction.
You know, I never considered it in terms of being 'circular,' but I guess it is. I just recently rewrote that, and only posted it a few weeks ago. My previous intro was a bit more mundane and detailed. I think I changed it because I have been wanting to look more closely at essence and not detail. I appreciate your input.

"Loren, i was thinking about you and your likely response as i was writing this post. i know your rightful indignation with the papacy and share it, albeit probably with slightly less ire.

"I suppose in regions of the country where Christianity is a major influence in local culture working towards a level of acceptance would be in Wicca's best interest. When I visited a gem shop in the bible belt with one of my friends I learned…"
"Hmmm, an outreach to atheists from the pope? I wonder ... is this an attempt at engagement and maybe a dialogue ... or is it an act of desperation from an organization which may finally be recognizing that it is failing at both engagement and…"

"Hello, Randall. Did you move to the region or have you lived there your entire life? I'm just curious because even my friends in the military who weren't rednecks and grew up in the region still loved motorcycles and racing. They…"
