Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to eric stone's discussion 'Why religion is fundamentally and basically immoral and evil, and should be banned.'
"-----and jerks!!!" But I'd be really really lonely. "Everyone in the world is crazy except me and thee, and lately I've been having doubts about thee" (anon)

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to eric stone's discussion 'Why religion is fundamentally and basically immoral and evil, and should be banned.'
Lots of luck with that. Not something I support,[I think the premise is facile and naive at best] However,I DO believe war and starvation are evil and should be banned.

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Chad's discussion 'Do you think that religion is child abuse?'
"Do you think that forcing children into religion is child abuse? " Forcing? Yes. Teaching a child one's beliefs with love, patience, and consistency, allowing questions and dissent? No. My Irish Catholic indoctrination, within the…

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Michael's discussion 'Police Investigate Anglican Church'
Self serving Christian sophistry is legend: EG: The word 'usury' actually means the lending of money at interest. That was accepted throughout Christendom for centuries. Today apologist claim it means 'unreasonable interest'…

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Roxi Atomic's discussion 'What are your pet peeves?'
"Live every day like it's your last. Save the regrets for when you're dead..." is my motto. Here we say "I'm here for a good time not a long time"

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Roxi Atomic's discussion 'What are your pet peeves?'
"Velour. Yes, perfect for a man's shirt with a plunging vee-neck, set off by an ostentatious large medallion on a leather cord. Or am I thinking of velvet? Oh, no, velvet is for canvases for painting unicorns or leopards on, I…

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to animus's discussion 'Welfare Reforms?'
"Oh, so it was Nixon? Wasn't he impeached? " No and so what if he was? Impeachment is only being charged. The person needs to be convicted. Until that time the presumption of innocence applies. Your question is straw man;it's…

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Selen's discussion 'What are the worst things for human being's spirit?'

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to James Turkia's discussion 'Presuppositional apologetics: explanation requested.'
"In order to presuppose either side of the argument there must be a god to allow presuppostion?" In formal logic, the proposition is always presumed to be true for the sake of argument. IE: 'IF A then----" I decline to argue…

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to ryan cameron's discussion 'Nixon hated Jews...and so did Billy Graham?'
I have had the same issue with the Hitler position. From quotes (not just 1 or 2) in Mein Kampf, it seems to be quite obvious that Hitler did believe in god, and even made reference to "the Almighty Creator beings such as He Himself…

Non American here. My understand is that you have the right to make an affirmation in ANY US court. To require an oath would be non constitutional. Besides there are several Christian churches whose members will not take an oath, considering it…

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Tom Begasse's discussion 'How much proof do people need?'
"Many people think this is a god experience. How can we refute this? " It's not up to us to refute anything. The burden of proof remains with the ones making the claim. It's up to them to provide evidence, rather than supposition…

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Arynn's discussion 'Feminism and the Church at large'

Tarquin St John Sh'gn'sty replied to Little Name Atheist's discussion 'One method of dealing with door-to-door proselytizers'
"So how did you get them to finally stop? We don't have any here." I answered the door in the nude. My dad used to turn the hose on them. Both actions were in less politically correct and less litigious times.

but since Austria is a member of the European Community, as many other Europeean countries are, most borders are history...still remaining Schweiz (Switzerland), Türkei (Turkey), Norwegen (Norway) and Rußland (Russia)...

...lots of different languages, cultures and, last but not least, traffic and customs laws...hard work, bad money - nevertheless I love my job...

Hi
Welcome to Atheist Nexus with its 8300+ good friends
A useful group to join, with its 130 discussions and numerous video films, is “ORIGINS” (Origins: Universe, Life, Humans, Evolution, Religion....).
One discussion (over 70 posts) is "Proud to be Atheist". There's much to feel good about
because atheists, agnostics and humanists hold the intellectual high ground——far from the mental slavery of superstitious people who submit to a narrow-minded controlling clergy with their imaginary god, heaven and hell.
