Ok, I have a question for any ex-thologians, current theologians, recently de-converted Christians or anyone else with thoughts on the matter.  It comes from an interesting situation. On the weekend,…Continue

Curing fundos of hell fear.

Ok, I have a question for any ex-thologians, current theologians, recently de-converted Christians or anyone else with thoughts on the matter.  It comes from an interesting situation. On the weekend, my 60 year old mum went skydiving.  Pretty proud of her courage, but she was a bit anxious leading up to it and in her typical fashion, took it to the melodramatic length of writing us all notesd to read in case she died.  We all said "thanks for the lovely thoughts but don't be silly" and of…See More

COUNTERING CHRISTIAN CLAIMS

This group deals specifically with christian apologetics, especially books written by fundamentalist evangelicals which argue that christianity is provably correct and atheism is provably evil.

Religious "education"?

This is a blog I have just posted in my Blog site: http://olasyreflexiones.blogspot.com/2009/10/religious-education.html.

The last time I posted anything that linked to facebook, I was preached at by a dozen or so Christians, so if anyone wants to befriend me on facebook and participate in the debate that I'm sure will ensue, please feel free.… Continue

Hey I just saw that you had an idea for a book with personal stories of people who've left their faith. I'm working a writing project right now along those lines!

Welcome to Atheist Nexus. You will make many good friends here. As an atheist you recognise religion for the fraud that it is, and you join us on the intellectual high ground with hopefully a real feel-good factor---while the religious flounder, frightened by their own superstitions, on the brainless low ground.

Terry Meaden founder of the busy Atheist Nexus discussion group
"ORIGINS: Universe, Life, Earth, Fossils, Humankind, Religion, Evolution, Darwin..." with its 200 discussion topics.
Try visiting and joining "Origins", and enjoy the discussions.

There are volunteers - I'm not sure on what basis they're going to work - e.g. whether they get free tickets. Jason Ball, president of the University of Melbourne Secular Society is co-ordinating volunteers. Contact David Nicholls at info@atheistfoundation.org.au for more info.

Hi Glen - glad you found us. As for the convention, prices are extremely low for this kind of event with this level of speaker. A full weekend ticket is $260 and that includes drinks and cocktails on Friday night and lunch and refreshments on Saturday and Sunday. If you're really keen to see the speakers, don't count on a DVD. There is no guarantee that sessions will be filmed, and the organizers have no rights to film the Dawkins presentation. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event in your own town - it would be such a shame to miss it. Plus, as an added bonus you get to meet me! I am to the Convention as a set of steak knives is to Danoz Direct!

Hi Glen! Welcome to Atheist Nexus. I'm Kris from Queensland. I'd like to invite you to join our Aussie, Kiwi and South Pacific Atheists group.

I'd also like to let you know about the Rise of Atheism Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne next March. It's going to be huge! Speakers will include Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, Peter Singer and many more.

I hope you will join us - both in our group and at the convention.

Enjoy the site!
