As far as their being closeted atheists in WV, there are. That tide is slowly turning though. There are over 90 atheists in the WV chapter of the National Atheist Party and the West Virginia Atheists Facebook page as 75. I know it's a small number, but more will follow. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of in-person meet and greets in the state, save college campuses.
