I'm a blogger, lover, poet, musician, barista, fiction writer, student, and internet addict from Alabama.

Above all, and it bleeds into all other parts of me, I'm an atheist.

You could call me Dawkins-esque in my thoughts on Militant Atheism.

Aereogramme - The Running Man (Profile Song)

I lost my way in '87
And turned my heart and thoughts to heaven
A foolish boy
What could you do?
Aged eleven

I thought I was open but I was closed
I thought I had answers to show the world
I thought that the good light would guide me home

For thirteen years I hid away
And waited out the final days
But now there's time to live my life
As it decays
As it decays

I thought I was open but I was closed
I thought I had answers to show the world
I thought that the good light would guide me home
But n… Continue

Darwinian Natural Selection in Today's Society

(Originally posted on my personal blog, BrainlessGeorge.com.)

I stand firm with my thoughts on Darwinian Natural Selection. I’m quite sure that it has happened in humans in even recorded history. I think that the technological advances, and forms of entertainment, all have implications of evoluation. Since the dawn of man we’ve been evolving and furthering our thinking.

Why?

To better survive in an ever changing world. Adapting to our surroundings?… Continue

I can forgive you the egregious error of forgetting your towel since you made the membership of the DNA fangroup the second best number in the Universe. :P

Welcome to the DNA Fangroup. We have plenty of spare towels and a nice selection of intergalactic beverages.

A lot of UUs are atheists. Although a lot of UUs have some vauge "spirituality". The UUs have a long proud history of standing up fo the oppresses.

Cool! Is this JSU group you are forming going to be affiliated with the Secular Student Alliance, Center for Inquiry On Campus, or another national group?

Let me know when you do form one. I like to keep up with what is going on in the state. The more people that know about this, the more likely other people will know about the group.

Let me know if you need help, my door is open.

Best,
Micah

On the right hand side of your page is a menu. One of the choices is "settings". Click settings and then on the left hand side of that page is another menu. One of those choices is "appearance". Go to the appearance page and try it out. I got my page looking like that through trial and errror. The pictures that I used were gathered over a period of time on the internet. Good luck.

From the article Tommy cited. "However, religious commentators have criticized Hawking's theorizing, saying he can never hope to explain what is essentially unexplainable." Well doesn't that kind of invalidate their own "god" theory then? ;p

Anybody else read it? I love the basic premise, and being an atheist means I can appreciate the mythology and not get bent out of shape about the multiple deities.

Wyoming is better than the southeast, from what I've seen. It's still a solid red state, though. My big point was that there are no cities. The closest it has are Cheyenne and Casper, each of which are around 50,000 people. The entire state barely…

I was in Panama City this past weekend, but I didn't have any free time. I was there for my brother-in-law's pinning. He was promoted to Major in the Air Force. The promotion ceremony was full of God and Jesus references, and the invocation was give…

I saw a video, or a blog post once that listed all the uncomfortable and illogical things that a person must do, according to Jesus' own words, in order to follow him. The list included hating your family, selling all your possessions, etc. I'm pret…
